At a time when women’s voices are rising around the world, the fintech company is taking measured steps in helping all women find their financial identity and independence, while emphasizing the importance of gender equality, diversity and financial inclusion.
The female-focused organization, formerly called AGS Tribe, is a platform that connects women to economic opportunities such as grants, loans, jobs, and discounts. The platform enables women to not just save and earn high interest, but also save as they spend.
Following the success of its 2020 event, on Friday, March 11, 2022, Herconomy will yet again bring unprecedented opportunities to more women at it’s 2022 Conference, Awards and Gala night themed: Action to Impact: creating inclusive pathways for women. The Conference, which will be held at 10:00 a.m at the Civic Centre Lagos, will bring together stakeholders to discuss issues that affect women as well as co-create solutions that accelerate the attainment of gender parity. This year’s conference is geared towards driving the need to create sustainable frameworks and pathways that will ensure that every effort towards gender equality leads to sustainable results.
Herconomy will also be introducing its latest innovations, primarily the savings and fintech features and unveil how these components can help women achieve their financial goals seamlessly.
Ahead of the conference and gala night, was the Herconomy Enterprise Challenge formerly known as (AGS Enterprise Challenge) which closed entries on February 25, 2022, after a 3-months pool of applications. The flagship initiative, launched in 2018, showcases, mentors, and funds female-led businesses in Nigeria. In 2022, the pro-women startup will continue to empower more women economically.
Since the launch of the Enterprise Challenge, at least eighteen (18) female entrepreneurs have received grants through their online pitch competition, with many other women empowered with resources to scale their businesses.
Women’s empowerment is essential for achieving inclusive and sustainable society and economic growth, and it is crucial to continue the dialogue and build momentum towards greater endeavors. The Awards and Gala Night, which will commence at 6:00 p.m on the same day, will complete the lineup of events for this year’s edition. The night will be dedicated to recognising and celebrating women who have achieved remarkable successes across diverse areas and fields. The ambience and programme is set to inspire and ensure guests relax and network. Nigerian stand-up comedian, actor and writer – Bovi Ugboma, widely lauded for his dexterity in breathing humour and entertainment at events, will also take the stage to create an atmosphere of fun and excitement, as guests pass the evening.

Herconomy has impacted over 80,000 women through capacity building, mentorship and funding. According to Ifedayo, this upward trajectory will lead to the creation of Africa’s largest digital bank that will be focused on financing women and projects that elevate the status of women in the economy.
