As part of creating awareness for living a healthy Lifestyle and looking beautiful for occasions without breaking a bank with organic products, CEO of Lagos based outfit Bol’s Company, Mrs Olaofe Eze have proven she is the boss.
The computer scientist turned beauty entrepreneur in an online interview with Zivangonline talks about her redefining the beauty space through creativity, making her products affordable for an average Nigerian, challenges faced during the covid 19 and future prospects.
 Let’s meet the brain behind Bol’s Natural?
My name is Olaofe Eze, I’m a Makeup Artist and I also produce natural oil and butter such as coconut oil, carrot oil, Shea butter and body butter. I’m a wife, mother who thrives to put in my best in all I do.
What inspired you to start up Bol’s Natural?
I love beauty all around me, I love to see people look beautiful naturally, I like seeing radiant skin that glows without the use of chemicals that can destroy the layers of the skin. My love for natural hair and skin products inspired me.
I remember when I wanted to start my natural hair journey, I thought of making my own coconut oil, I made it, then I realized that many people would need it too, that’s how I started producing for others to use.
What are the challenges of running your business during covid-19 & after covid -19 period?
WelI, Â it’s not been an easy one, the Lockdown has affected the price of purchasing coconut, it’s almost double in price. Getting to the market to source for good and mature coconut has been a challenge too. We want to give our customers the best.
The pandemic has affected our makeup line too, no parties or event. People don’t wear makeup like before. They are more concerned about what to eat, that’s why we want to people to also give their skin good food for the skin, that is natural and unadulterated.
As an entrepreneur what keeps you going in this thriving times globally?
I have hope that the pandemic won’t be forever, it’s just a phase. One of those set backs one would face to grow. I personally used this to improve myself and the business. This has given me reassurance that it’s not the end yet. Mediation and learning new things keeps our mind focus, this I do more often now.
What makes Bol’s Natural stand out from other brands?
A special kind of coconut oil we make, is the cold pressed. You may wonder what it is, it’s little different from the ones our mothers made which they cook the on fire to bring out the oil. However, the cold pressed doesn’t go through heat, the oil is made from leaving the coconut milk to ferment. These helps to  retain all nutrient of the coconut oil. For those who don’t like the smile of coconut oil, cold pressed is a good one. The smell and texture are soothing to nose and skin.
We put in our best to give our customers that home made feeling is our products. We give them tips on how best to use our products to get desired results.
Kindly mention the nutritional benefits of these products?
Our coconut oil helps improves digestion, lowers cholesterol, balance hormones, weight management, boost immune system, nourishes hair and skin, promotes hair growth.
Our carrot oil makes skin glow, gives you even tone, soothes sunburn and revitalize full hair giving it shine and lusture.
Our Shea butter is anti inflammatory, relieves joint pain, natural hair conditioner, restores skin elasticity.
Our body butter is a combination of different body butter and oils such as mango, avocado and shea butter, carrot, rosehip and grape seed oil. They are all natural it would give the skin a smooth and youthful appeal.
What’s your take on living a healthy lifestyle?
Our health is wealth. When we take good care of our skin and body we fall I’ll less. The earlier we start eating healthy the better for us. We should not joke with it. We should always remember that whatever we use in our skin goes into our body, let’s use healthy and natural skin care so our body can be free of toxins and radicals.
Any plan to create job employment through this company?
Yes, we plan to take the company forward providing job creation to assist those in the community. Even now we assist in our own little way of proving part time work for people within the community.
Aside work, how do you relax yourself?
I read, watch movies, play with my family, dance.
As a new start up where do you see yourself in two years from now?
Iny products on shelves of shops and supermarket. Building a brand to meet the needs of consumers.
Advice to your fellow start up entrepreneurs?
The road the rough and tough, but don’t give up. There are times you would be lazy and down, don’t let it get at you, it’s part of the process. Always remember you are doing just fine.
